Everything you need to know

Player help and assistant integration in one place. Pick a section, or read them top to bottom.

Getting started

Create an account, upload one clear selfie, choose a race, class and vibe, and we render a free preview portrait. It usually takes a couple of minutes; you'll get an email when it's ready.

Choosing a photo

  • One face, clearly lit — daylight near a window is ideal.
  • Looking toward the camera, no sunglasses or low hats.
  • Avoid heavy filters; they fight the likeness.
  • JPEG, PNG and iPhone HEIC photos are all accepted.

Selfie pools

Each person you create art for has a selfie pool. Add a few photos to a pool and every future portrait for that person uses them, so you never re-upload.

Gold and billing

What gold buys

  • Character portrait — 10 gold
  • Party portrait — 10 gold per member
  • Animate a portrait into video — 20 gold
  • Reforge / edit a portrait — 5 gold
  • AI character sheet section — 1 gold

Gold never expires. Packs start at $19, and subscribers get 10% off every pack automatically at checkout.

Subscriptions

Keeper ($6.99/mo) keeps your whole library stored while you're subscribed, with unlimited full-res downloads and no watermark. Pro ($99.99/mo) adds 120 gold a month that rolls over. Cancel any time — after that the standard 30-day storage window applies again.

Refunds on failed generations

If a paid generation fails, the gold is returned to your balance automatically. If something looks wrong, message us in the chat bubble and we'll sort it.

Parties

Create a party, then share the invite link with your group. Each player opens the link, uploads their own selfie and picks their character. Everyone renders in one shared art style so the group looks like a group.

Who pays

The party owner's gold covers the renders at 10 gold per member, so players don't need accounts topped up to join.

Storage and privacy

Your selfies are private to your account. We don't sell them and we don't publish them.

Retention

Portraits are stored for 30 days after they're made. If you've never purchased and never subscribed, the selfie and the free preview portrait are removed after 30 days — we email you a warning first. Subscribers keep their entire library while their subscription is active.

Deleting things yourself

You can delete a selfie pool or an individual portrait at any time from your gallery. Deletion is immediate and permanent.

AI assistants (MCP)

RPG AI Selfie exposes an MCP server so an AI assistant can work with your account on your behalf — after you sign in and approve the connection.

Server URL

https://rpgaiselfie.com/mcp

What an assistant can do

  • List and create selfie pools, and add selfies to them
  • List character options — races, classes, styles
  • Generate a portrait (spends gold from your balance)
  • Check your gold balance
  • List your orders and recent jobs, and fetch a single order

Connecting

Add the server URL to your assistant's MCP settings. It uses OAuth: you'll be sent here to sign in and approve access, and you can revoke it at any time. Step-by-step instructions live on the Connect page.

Spending safeguards

An assistant can only spend gold you already have. It cannot buy gold, change your subscription, or read your payment details.

Troubleshooting

My portrait is still rendering

Most portraits finish in a couple of minutes; busy periods can take longer. You can close the tab — we email you when it's ready.

It doesn't look like me

Usually the source photo. Try a brighter, straight-on photo with nothing covering your face, then reforge for 5 gold instead of starting over.

My upload was rejected

We need a photo with a clear single face. Very dark, blurry or heavily filtered photos get rejected before spending anything.

Payment went through but no gold

Refresh the page first — the balance updates as soon as the payment confirms. If it's still missing after a minute, message us in the chat bubble with your email and we'll fix it right away.

Still stuck? Sign in and use the chat bubble in the corner — it reaches a real person. Assistant setup instructions.
